IMO 2020 regulations entered into force
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has introduced a new fuel regulation that, from January 1, 2020, limits sulfur emissions to 0.5%, which has led to ships having to significantly reduce their emissions both on the high seas and in coastal areas. This change affects the entire shipping industry. Thanks to the regulation, shipping is becoming more environmentally friendly. DB Schenker is cooperating with shipping companies that are actively working to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and comply with IMO 2020.
