- DB Arriva in the Netherlands has started operating the first night trains from Maastricht to Schiphol. The night train will connect Maastricht in the south of the country with larger cities in the Netherlands and with Schiphol Airport. A second connection will be launched in January 2023 from Groningen in the north-east of the country to Schiphol. It is the first time that Open Access services will be introduced in the Netherlands.
- In January 2022, DB Arriva in Italy started a new ten-year contract to operate transport services for students with reduced mobility in the capital city of Rome. DB Arriva is introducing 246 new vehicles, including 25 electric small buses, 20 of which were included in the fleet in October 2022. The buses are equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and security systems.
