  • Impairment: As a result of changed infrastructure and market conditions, due in particular to the prolonged corridor modernizations and the significantly delayed improve- ment in punctuality, DB Long-Distance recognized an impairment resulting in a depreciation. The impairment mainly comprises property, plant and equipment (rolling stock).
  • Intermodal travel chains: In cooperation with 55 airlines and other partners, especially tour operators, DB Long-Distance further strengthened its position as an integral component of intermodal travel chains in 2025. Since January 2025, train-to-flight offers have again been available for Eurowings bookings. Since March 2025, the City Ticket has been automatically included in Lufthansa Express Rail bookings in 25 German cities at present, offering passengers a seamless mobility chain from their front door to the airport. In the same month, a codeshare agreement was concluded with Condor. The most important hub is Frankfurt Airport, whose long-distance station was served by about 200 ICE connections every day in 2025.
  • More trains between Germany and Poland: Since December 2025 significantly more trains are running between Germany and Poland. DB Group and Poland’s PKP Intercity (PKP) are increasing their long-distance services by over 50 %. Passengers will have 17 direct connections instead of the current 11. The Leipzig — Krakow line, which runs twice a day, was newly introduced.
