Personnel development

  • As part of the DB Bachelor’s and Master’s program (DB University), DB Group offers qualification programs with uniform funding conditions. The program consists of a part-time course of study that is accompanied by an internal DB framework program to promote not only professional development but also cross-business unit networking among students. In 2025, there were 20 participants in the Bachelor’s program and 30 participants in the Master’s program. Employees also have the opportunity to obtain funded short academic qualifications such as nanodegrees with individual funding.
  • In 2025, 18,665 participants used the DB Career Lab platform with free learning opportunities for self-initiated career development.
  • In an exclusive talent program for the target level of senior management, 64 talents were intensively promoted in 2025, including 31 women (48 %).
  • In succession planning, which is an established instrument for securing key positions relevant to the company, success-critical functions were also planned for 2025. Appointments involving candidates from the succession planning process served to reduce vacancy times at upper management level (OFK 2/3) by 29 % and at senior management level by 19 % compared to appointments not involving such candidates. At the same time, the share of leadership positions filled by candidates from the succession planning process increased significantly.
