Summit for improved security
Following the fatal attack on an employee on a regional train, senior representatives from the Federal Government, the Federal states, employee representatives and the transport sector have agreed on areas of action for a joint “Action plan for improved security in rail transport.” DB CEO Evelyn Palla invited the participants to the security summit on February 13, 2026. Among other things, DB Group itself will implement the following measures in the short term:
- In 2026, all customer-facing employees in passenger transport and at stations will be provided with bodycams.
- An additional 200 DB Security staff will be deployed at stations.
- The personal protective equipment of DB employees will be improved.
The action plan will also be supplemented by further areas for action and examination, such as the expansion of video surveillance on trains and at stations.
