Climate Change (ESRS E1)

Achieved reduction in greenhouse gas emissions

Absolute reduction in greenhouse gas emissions achieved by energy source compared to the previous year / t CO₂e 2025
Traction current 195,213
Fuel –40,338
Stationary electricity 388,371
Heating and cooling –4,304

A negative sign (–) denotes an increase in greenhouse gas emissions.

The complete transition of electricity to 100 % renewable energies for our stationary facilities and buildings in Germany supplied by DB Energy and the further increase in the share of renewable energies in the DB traction current mix in Germany have resulted in noticeable greenhouse gas reductions. The increased consumption of diesel fuel led to a slight increase in greenhouse gas emissions. There was a slight increase in the use of heating and cooling, as we have included the supply of heating oil by third parties for the first time.
