Health management

DB Group is committed to holistic health management that encompasses physical, mental and social health through occupational medical and psychological care. Health protection and health promotion are firmly anchored in the Group guidelines on health management and health promotion as well as medical and psychological suitability.

  • The framework guideline on medical and psychological suitability defines corresponding regulations with the aim of deploying applicants and employees in accordance with the job-specific health requirements and thus ensuring the safety of the company and third parties.
  • A further framework guideline provides specifications on the Ordinance on Preventive Occupational Health Care (Verordnung zur arbeitsmedizinischen Vorsorge; ArbMedVV), which serves as the basis for the advisory activities of our occupational medical services. The tasks of our occupational medical services are based on legal requirements (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Act (Arbeitsschutzgesetz; ArbSchG), ArbMedVV) and internal framework guidelines. This ensures a focus on prevention of work-related illnesses and accidents, health promotion and reintegration. Regular training sessions, digital appointments and reporting on the results of employee suitability examinations via SAP EHS, as well as the specific professional requirements for the medical personnel of occupational medical services, are aimed at ensuring a consistently high quality of service.
  • Health management covers all traditional areas of prevention, such as stress management, exercise, nutrition and professional support for mental disorders. Employees can contact their respective executive without any formal process if they have individual needs in terms of occupational health. Executives are supported with targeted training on health-oriented leadership.
  • The company health management product portfolio includes the areas of action of company medical services, healthy working conditions, health promotion and prevention, social and crisis support as well as operational integration and inclusion. In total, we offer more than 100 different services that are geared towards the needs of our employees and enhanced on the basis of regular surveys. All health promotion products are actively managed in a standardized process and modified and expanded as required. The focus is on expanding digital health offerings (platforms, apps, webinars). In addition, post-Covid and long Covid programs are provided in cooperation with the social partners.
  • DB Group relies on comprehensive operational integration management (Betriebliches Eingliederungsmanagement; BEM), which is based on legal principles and has been expanded by Group-wide framework guidelines. Preventive integration management is supported digitally, which simplifies and standardizes processes. The BEM for integration and the procedure for temporary unsuitability regulate the continued employment of employees with permanent or temporary performance restrictions.
