The key indicator is the employee satisfaction index (SI), which is collected as part of the Group-wide employee survey. The index measures employee satisfaction, commitment and identification with DB Group.

A target value of 3.7 SI was set for DB Group for 2026. The target values for DB Group are set on the basis of the results of the most recent surveys and are determined by the Management Board in consultation with the responsible specialist department and an external service provider.

The employee SI applies throughout the Group. Management is the responsibility of the Management Board member for Human Resources and Legal Affairs, and targets are defined and implemented in close consultation with the operational co-determination bodies. Results and progress are documented on the DB intranet and reported to the Management Board.

Target achievement is reviewed every two years. The next survey will take place in 2026. Data is analyzed on a Group-wide basis and at all hierarchical levels in order to derive location-specific and division-specific areas for action. Progress is measured on the basis of defined indicators that are regularly collected, evaluated on a Group-wide basis and accompanied by operational co-determination.
