In 2025, there was an increase in the number of companies in Germany that are obligated to establish an EnMS in accordance with ISO 50001 or an environmental management system in accordance with the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) pursuant to Section 8 of the Energy Efficiency Act (Energieeffizienzgesetz; EnEfG) as a result of newly established companies, acquisitions and an updated impact assessment within DB Group. 25 of the Group companies affected are allocated to DB Regional Road. In 2025, a further four Group companies had their EnMS certified for the first time and seven Group companies established a new EnMS. This means that about 40 % of the obligated Group companies have an EnMS in place. The implementation of the legal requirements at the affected Group companies will extend into the first quarter of 2026 due to capacity bottlenecks at the accredited certification bodies and consulting companies.
